A LOCAL MAN FOR LOCAL ISSUES
The local election on May 6th is your opportunity to decide who will represent you and your community at Essex County Council.
I sincerely hope you will vote to re-elect me so I may continue the work it has been my privilege to carry out on your behalf for the past four years.
Putting People First is what drives me. I work closely with Parish and Town Councils to resolve many issues such as flood defences, road defects, signs and speeding issues and with residents who need support with social care, school admissions and school transport and the educational needs of their children.
Working WITH you and FOR You
With three generations of my family living within our community and my current roles as a Southminster Parish and Burnham Town Councillor, Chair of the Burnham United Charities, a Trustee of local almshouses and Chair of Governors at St Mary’s Primary School - I believe this gives me broad knowledge and experience of your issues across all age ranges and locations.
Social Care for those in Need
I believe everyone should be given the opportunity to be cared for in their own home should they wish. I actively seek support and funding for residents of all ages and diverse needs.
Our children & young people deserve a LOCAL education
It should NOT be necessary for any primary school-aged child to travel between town/villages to attend school. I will push for funding to provide extra classrooms and teachers for our primary schools.
WHAT HAVE WE ACHIEVED SO FAR?
Supporting small business with grants, cuts to VAT and business rates
Funding for nappies to be available at our local food bank
Kept Council Tax Low - Conservatives have a proud record of only asking for the money we need to run the essential services for you.
No Child Goes Hungry - With free school meal vouchers, holiday camps and funding for food banks
5000 IT devices to assist with digital learning in lockdown
TO OUR FABULOUS COVID CARERS
Most importantly - a thank you to all the NHS GPs, nurses, carers and admin staff in our care homes and medical practices and the mobile carers
who have maintained their excellent services to our rural community during this pandemic.
I would also like to thank the resident volunteer groups who gave - and are still giving - shopping and social support to those in need. I am proud of and thankful to each and every one.
