Sue has lived in the area for over 25 years; she is married to Keith with two adult children, both of whom live locally. Following a career in Export within the Paint Industry, she and her husband came to live in this area, and she took on the role of Parish Clerk in Sandon, serving the community for over 14 years. This gave her an excellent understanding of the issues that affect local people, especially those that appear to threaten the quality of our rural environment – and doing her best to ensure local people were supported.
She continues to serve the community as the Chairman of the Danbury Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group; she believes that it is vitally important that local communities should have a say in how their village evolves in the long term and, if elected, would be keen to see Neighbourhood Plans developed for the four villages within our Ward.
She is a keen horse rider and walker and believes strongly that the rural area in which we all live should be protected from inappropriate development but understands that there are also unique issues that affect rural life – for example the scarce bus services, isolation of elderly and vulnerable residents and the increasing traffic on our roads.
