I moved to Danbury with my husband and two daughters in 2005 and then to Little Baddow in 2013. The warmth and generosity of spirit provided by the villages has been incredible and I was therefore delighted to be invited to stand in the 2022 By-Election representing the Ward of Little Baddow, Danbury and Sandon when the excellent Councillor Bob Shepherd stood down after many years serving the community.
I am a member of Little Baddow Parish Council and my key responsibility is to oversee Papermill LocK. I am a member of the Hammonds Farm Working Group, consisting of four Parish Councils, Little Baddow, Danbury, Sandon and Boreham. Our purpose is to oppose thousands of houses and two enormous warehouses being built in and around Little Baddow creating havoc to the A414 and A12 sections affecting all four Parish Council Villages.
I have founded the Little Baddow Carers Club which is funded by Essex County Council Carers Community Fund and supported by Little Baddow Parish Council. With a dedicated Working Group we have reached out to the surrounding villages from South Woodham Ferrers to Sandon and so the Club is gaining a steady and growing number of Unpaid Carers each month. Always delighted to welcome new Carers and their Loved Ones for refreshments, chat and interesting guests.
For over thirty years I have worked with charities supporting children and adults living with physical and neurological conditions to raise essential funding and awareness. In the last six years I have worked in a voluntary capacity for the Alzheimer Society, helping to build Dementia Friendly Communities, engaging with local services to build and promote areas of support.
I am extremely proud to be living within a ward with high Conservative values, giving all residents an opportunity to have a voice in everything that matters within the area in which they live.
My purpose in becoming a Conservative Chelmsford City Councillor representing Little Baddow, Danbury and Sandon is to work with and for all residents to ensure each of your individual and specific issues are given full attention by Chelmsford City Council.
