Growing up in Billericay, my parents instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility and the value of hard work. As someone with dyslexia, academic life was challenging, but studying at the Dyslexia Institute in Chelmsford and attending S.E.E.C.A.T opened up valuable opportunities for me.
I’ve spent over 36 years in the hospitality industry, including 22 incredible years with British Airways, travelling the world as Cabin Crew including 10 years as Cabin Service Director. I am now proud to be the Director of Good Karma Public Houses Ltd and run The Queen Victoria in Maldon—an award-winning pub.
Since moving to Maldon in 2018 and marrying my husband in 2019, I’ve become deeply involved in the community. I currently serve as both a co-opted Maldon Town Councillor and an elected District Councillor for the Maldon North Ward. I am also the Treasurer of the Royal British Legion Maldon and Heybridge Branch, and Chair of both Maldon District Tourism Group and The Maldon Festival of Music & Arts and member of Maldon in Bloom.
