Anthony McQuiggan lives in the Galleywood Ward of the Great Baddow and Galleywood, County Council Division (comprising the three Galleywood, Great Baddow East and West wards). From 2015 he represented the residents of Goat Hall Ward in Chelmsford City Council and as the Cabinet Member for Corporate Services. In Galleywood where he served recently as Chairman on the Parish Council, he has successfully brought and guided new infrastructure and improvements for residents. He has spent his career building award winning local technology companies as a small business entrepreneur. He is an active trustee of local charities and other community organisations.
Anthony is currently the Essex county Councillor for the Great Baddow and Galleywood Division which spans the two Parliamentary Constituencies of Chelmsford in the north (Great Baddow East and West) and Maldon in the south (Galleywood)
Anthony’s main reason for standing and serving in the Essex County, Chelmsford City Council and the Galleywood Parish Council was that he felt frustrated with wasted resources and as a Conservative Councillor he could better influence matters that affect all the residents he represents. Anthony places high importance to allowing him to provide residents the best ‘joined up’ service he can at all levels of local government while working with others to achieve change for the better. Trained as an engineer he has an attention to detail and a passion for getting things done right.
The time commitment required to serve as a County Councillor is now available to him. - County Council meetings take place during working hours – and Anthony has recently quit his ‘day job’ as an Aerospace Technology provider allowing more time. Helping residents resolve their problems is the most rewarding part of being a local councillor.
He has supported many residents to address the problems they have been facing; he can be found on the phone by email and online, and he is an active member of many community groups, online and off.
Residents often contact Anthony to raise their concerns and issues – he is always ready to help understand, explain, guide or solve.
